Hi, I’m Coach Bree!

My passion for running started in high school. I was fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible group of talented girls that inspired and motivated me every day to be the best runner I could be. During my senior year, we achieved every high schooler’s dream of becoming Cross Country State Champions. The success we shared through running created memories that will last a lifetime.

After high school, I continued my running career at Shippensburg University where I was coached under former 1992 Olympian, Steve Spence. During my time at Shippensburg, I was lucky to be an integral part of a 4x NCAA DII National Championship qualifying team. I attribute much of my success as a runner to Coach Spence. He taught me how to be patient, how to trust the process, and how to live a lifestyle that fosters success.

After graduating college, I knew my running career was not over. In 2021, I made my marathon debut and qualified for the Boston Marathon. I continue to chase down lofty goals, and Urban Coaching was developed to help others chase down theirs.

Bryanna is the best! She has so much knowledge and has helped me do things I never thought I was capable of. She pushes me to achieve my goals in a way that works with my busy schedule.

As I set out to prepare to run my first half-marathon in nearly two decades, I knew I would need help. After years of running and then doing Cross Fit and at age 57, I had experienced a lot of hamstring and sciatica type issues. Thankfully one of my friend’s mentioned running coach Bryanna Urban. What a find! She set me up with weekly runs and exercises and enlightened me along the way in our monthly conversations. There was so much I misunderstood about training for a race. I learned about different types of runs like the Fartlek, and she encouraged me to fuel/eat in different ways before, during and after running. Any time I had a set back of a foot or muscle issue, she was encouraging and suggested alternative training like cycling, and even resting. She followed my Strava account and cheered me along. There’s no doubt that I was as prepared as possible to run 13.1 miles in elevation in Wyoming because of the coaching and care by Bryanna. I wouldn’t want to run a race without her as my coach!

Bryanna is endlessly supportive and so knowledgeable. I have multiple health challenges and she’s terrific about taking them into account and helping me work around them. I used to train hard, now I’m training efficiently. I’m doing more, but not working as hard. Running has become fun!
